Baby, oh baby!

Well, news is out: We're expecting!  Matt and I could seriously not be more excited to finally share the news with everyone!  We're having a baby, I can hardly stand it! :)
The day after we found out I sat out on our picnic table and drew this print.  When we were ready to tell my parents our news I handed them a stack of my new prints to see (not too unusual), but I slipped this baby into the bottom of the pile.  They were SO shocked, it was priceless!

I've definitely been a lot more hands off with CinnamonInk lately.  Juggling spring shows, online orders and morning sickness (AKA all-day-long sickness, "morning" my eye!) has been about all I could handle the past few months.  Thanksfully, I feel like I'm starting to get my energy back and feeling a bit better thank goodness!  I'll be around!

So, that's my news, baby on the way!!! Horray!

Beehive Bazaar

If you're local, stop by the Beehive Bazaar at the Riverwoods in Orem this weekend.  Set up was last night and this show is looking good!  It will be my last show in Utah before we move this summer!  Doing these shows for the past two years has been such a crazy, fun time.  Every spring and fall my weeks were packed with packaging prints and prepping followed by busy weekends of driving all over to set up, work and take down.  Add in a few almost missed set up times (oops), making friends with lots of fabulous creative people, a few traffic jams, trading for lots of awesome goods and general craziness- you've got yourself a party!  I must say a heartfelt, big thanks to everyone who has come to specifically support me, or just come to shop from so many awesome vendors! (And a big thanks to Matt- hottest set up crew around :)  Come to the Bazaar, you won't regret it!

Airplane nursery

So earlier today I linked to something, linked to something else (you know how that goes) and ended up on Spearmint Baby.  Spearmint Baby, love that blog... I've done some advertising and posts with them in the past, just plain classy if you ask me.  So I start scrolling down the top page through this darling airplane nursery...

Do you see him?  Because a little guy in red definitely caught my eye!

I love randomly finding a stylin room that houses one of my prints.  The other day I spotted Just be You on Ruffling Feathers, love that Emily.  It just happens from time to time and I have to say it feels really good to see my art be part of someones space.  That is so flattering and fun for me.  After so much thought and time, each print ends up meaning a lot to me, so it's really cool to see someone enjoy it and make it theirs.

Combine spring market season with end of the school year hyperactivity and I'm a bit worn out.  I've been working on several new prints too, some of which sold out at Bijou- YES!  Look for them in the shop very soon!

Bijou Market

The Bijou Market is coming up this weekend!
Bijou is always one of my favorite markets- the vendors are great, the location is really cool and there is always a fun vibe going on.  It will be my last time selling at Bijou (so sad!), so come join the party!!!

Nursery love

This little nursery just caught my eye on Pinterest.  I love the pops of color and am already imagining a vibrant, modern looking robot print for the wall.  A little space for a cute little person.  Plus that desk space just outside?  Too perfect!

New Print: You are my FLAVORite!

I'm beyond excited to share this print!
This print is definitely different than most of the prints in my shop, but I love how it turned out!!! Spring is in the air and I felt like bright colors were bursting out of my fingertips when I created this.  It's made for the kitchen, but I feel like it could really go anywhere!  Check it out in the shop...

A portrait

Yesterday the 5th graders at my school put on a "class store" with the fake money they earn in class.  It's a sweet rewards program.  While all the kids were selling duct tape wallets, pixy stix and manicures, one cute chicka was selling on the spot portraits.  Of course I had to support my local artist!

I don't know that I've ever sat for a portrait, but it turned out pretty sweet huh?  I always thought I was tall... :)

Speaking of street walks...

I love Nina Cosford's work. I could look at those building fronts all day!  Not to mention she is lovely through e-mail!  Beautiful images!

City walk

I spent my morning getting all caught up on e-mails and custom prints- hallelujah!
So, I rewarded myself with an afternoon of drawing just for fun.
And that is when this little street came to be.
Happy Saturday!

Long day, well said.
It's just the simple things you know?

Twirl

This is what happens when I come home from work absolutely enthused by my students and the wonder that is being a child.  My to do lists goes out the door and sassy chickas with twirlable-mulicolored skirts emerge.

Today I had a long convo about Harry Potter with a 9-year-old, heard all about a fifth grader's dad's awesome girlfriend and got a few whispers out of a very shy third grader.

That's a good day in my book.

Get cozy

Did you have a wonderful long weekend?
Mine was wonderful in the stay home in bed in a sea of tissues kind of way
...again Meg Ryan, You've Got Mail style.  Everything relates to Kathleen Kelly these days.
It was still good.

I drew this baby up while chillin in my pjs, watching this fall...

It was a cozy sort of time.

Explosion

I saw these paintings by Diana Delgado and I thought so many happy thoughts.  It's like a tasteful color explosion feast!
The colors in that first one... I love.
